III     NEW BUSINESS

Requests:  Recognition of Wes and Joann Blauss for their years of service ~ Mr. Soper indicated that Wes Blauss was born and raised in Hanson.  Both Mr. & Mrs. Blauss have been involved with Hanson youth and drama for four decades.  In the 80’s the Blauss were instrumental in activities at Camp Kiwanee.  They have put a lot of arts and theatre in the community.  Mr. Soper doesn’t want the award for their tenure as teachers, but as volunteers for the community.  Mr. Amico would like to have the recognition at the Board level and not Town Meeting.  The recognition would be at the meeting of May 21st.

IV      EXECUTIVE SESSION – Chairman Amico announced that the Board will be going into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing strategy with respect to collective bargaining since an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the litigating and bargaining position of the Town and to discuss strategy with respect to contract negotiations with non-union personnel.
